Just gonna stand there
And watch me burn
But that's alright
Because I like
The way it hurts
Just gonna stand there
And hear me cry
But that's alright
Because I love
The way you lie
I love the way you lie
I love the way you lie
It's hard to understand why Rihanna, who is a victim of domestic violence herself, is singing 'I like the way it hurts'.
Why for a second would she say that in one of her songs knowing what it feels like to be on the other side of a fist?
There is nothing 'alright' about this..... hmmm so strange.
i keep on thinking exactly the same thing about this song! australia is saying "no" to domestic violence, why is rihanna saying she loves it?
ReplyDeletei know its just too weird...Thanks for reading :)
ReplyDeletei think she's saying how, as women we can find it so hard to walk away from a relationship despite how bad it may be. we always look for the good in it, for the times that "makes all those bad times worth it".
ReplyDeleteEminem later says how he's not going to hurt her again but he knows he's lying and that he WILL do it again, and she's saying how she loves his lies. she believes him that he won't hit her again. and its so sooo true in so many relationships today! its really sad.
for Rihanna, with all that stuff with Chris Brown, there was still times where she defended him! as women, we're often subject to abusive behaviour but put up with it for those small times that are amazing.
